(HFMA) is the nation's leading personal membership organization for more than 35,000
financial management professionals employed by hospitals, long-term and ambulatory care
facilities, integrated delivery systems, managed care organizations, medical group
practices, public accounting and consulting firms, insurance companies, government
agencies, and other healthcare organizations.
HFMA helps members meet challenges by providing
professional development opportunities, influencing healthcare policy, as well as

MISSION
STATEMENT
THE HEALTHCARE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION IS THE PROFESSIONAL
MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN THE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH
CARE.
HFMA SERVES AND REPRESENTS MEMBERS BY:
~ PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH
EDUCATION, INFORMATION, CERTIFICATION, PEER INTERACTION, AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING.
~ INFLUENCING HEALTHCARE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
AND ACCOUNTING POLICY DECISIONS, PRINCIPLES, AND PRACTICES THROUGH ADVOCACY AND
DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION
ESTABLISHING AND PROMOTING THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL AND

QUALITY IS THE FOUNDATION OF THE ASSOCIATION AND THE KEYSTONE OF ITS
EFFORTS TO ENSURE MEMBER AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. HFMA'S OBJECTIVE IS TO:
